We've heard all six. Here they are, with the honest answers.
“I already have a Facebook page.”
Keep it. They work well together. The difference is ownership: the page, the reach and the reviews all sit on somebody else's platform, the rules change without asking you, and if the account is ever locked you lose the lot at once. A website is the one thing online that's actually yours, and it's where you send people once they're interested.
“I'm not technical.”
You won't touch anything technical. You send us photos, we do the rest. If you can send a text message with a picture attached, you can do your half of this.
“I don't have good photos.”
Almost nobody does. We'll work with what's on your phone, tidy it up, and tell you honestly which photos would make the biggest difference if you want to take them.
“I got burned by a web guy before.”
Then you should hear the terms before anything else. You see a mockup for free, with no card and no form. Half is due when we start and the rest only once your site is live and you're happy with it, so the balance is never owed on something unfinished. The domain is registered in your name, not ours, and you can take every file and leave whenever you like.
“It'll be out of date in a month.”
You get a login and can change your own hours, prices and photos in a couple of clicks. On the care plan, you can also just text us the change and we'll do it.
“I don't know what it'd cost.”
Scroll down and you'll see it, before you speak to anyone. Every price is on this page: what a site starts at, what an extra page costs, and what you pay each month. If a web company won't give you a number until you've sat through a call, the number is usually the reason.

How you pay
Half before we start, and the rest once your site is live and you're happy with it. No deposit to hold a slot and no card kept on file.
Free for two months, then $5/month, which keeps the whole thing running:
- Your site online on our servers, backed up and kept fast and up to date.
- Spam kept off your enquiry form and the site kept secure, so every enquiry is real.
- Minor changes whenever you want them, as many as you like. Text us and it's done.
Wix and Squarespace charge three or four times this for the hosting alone. The site, the domain and every file stay yours whatever happens.
The second half is only due when it's live, so a site that isn't finished isn't a site you've paid for.

I already have a website. What happens to it?
It stays exactly where it is until the new one is ready. We build alongside it, you look at the finished thing, and only when you say so do we point your domain at it. There's no window where your business is offline, and nothing is deleted, if you want the old files afterwards, they're yours.
Will rebuilding cost me my place on Google?
We keep the things that carry it: the same domain, the same page addresses wherever they still make sense, and your Google Business listing untouched. Search results do move around after any change, and anyone who promises you they won't is guessing with your business. What we can say is that a site that finally works on a phone and loads quickly is the version Google prefers.
Mine's on Wix, Squarespace or GoDaddy. Can you still do it?
Yes, and it's the most common one we do. We rebuild it properly rather than trying to rescue what's there, then point your domain at the new one. Once it's live you can cancel the old subscription, that's usually the first month where the site costs you less than it did.
Do I actually own the website?
Yes, completely. The domain and every account are in your name and your business's details, not ours, so there are no passwords of yours for us to be holding in the first place. If you ever want to walk away or move it somewhere else, we hand over every file without a fuss.
When do I actually pay?
Half before we start, and the rest once the site is live and you're happy with it. There's no deposit to hold a slot and no card kept on file. Care is free for the first two months, then the small monthly fee starts. It isn't an optional extra, it's what keeps the site online and looked after, so if it ever stops, the site comes down. We'd tell you well before that and hand over every file.
Do you write the words for me?
Yes, and it's included. Most people find writing about their own business excruciating. Text or email us what you do, in whatever order it comes out. We write it up properly and you tell us what we got wrong. If you already have a site, we start from what's on it, keeping what works rather than making you say it all again.
Is what I saw on this page what I get?
It's a taster, not a plan. It's there so you can see the standard we work to in a few seconds, with stand-in words and pictures. Yours is designed around your business: your photos, your prices, your words, and the look is chosen for you rather than picked off a list.
Can I really update it myself?
Yes. Hours, prices, photos, text and new services are all editable from a simple admin screen. No code, no plugins to update, nothing that can break. If you'd rather not, text us the change instead and it's up by 5pm.
What if my business is unusual?
The 76 trades at the top are only there so we can show most people a taster instantly. They are not what we build from. We've done celebrants, mobile welders, tarot readers and one very specific alpaca stud. If people pay you for something, we can put it online.
Do I get an email address on my domain?
Yes, a proper address on your own domain, hello@yoursite.com rather than a Gmail one. We walk you through buying the domain and mailbox from Hostinger, then set the whole thing up: the records, the account, and getting it working on your phone and computer. You buy in your own name and pay them directly, so it stays yours if you ever leave us. We're a Hostinger referral partner and they pay us a commission, which costs you nothing extra and doesn't stop you buying elsewhere if you'd rather. If you're moving from an old site, your existing email keeps working throughout, we don't touch those records without telling you first.
Why is the price different in different countries?
Because $390 is an afternoon's takings in London and close to a month's profit in Manila. Same work, priced for where you trade. Everything is billed in USD.
What happens after it's live?
It's yours and it's looked after. The monthly fee keeps it online: our servers, backups, and the site kept up to date. It also covers minor changes whenever you want them, however many, up by 5pm on the day you ask. You can also edit prices, hours and photos yourself whenever you like, without asking us. If something breaks it's our problem, not yours. Most people were paying a platform three or four times as much to host a site they had to update themselves.
How does the referral work?
Send someone your link. If they go ahead and tell us you sent them, we pay you 10% of what they spend. Actual money, once their site is live and settled. No limit on how many, and no form to fill in; just tell us where to send it.
We rebuild those too.
Most of the sites we replace aren't broken. They're just old: built years ago, awkward on a phone, slow, and a bit embarrassing to send to somebody. Yours doesn't need patching. It needs building again, properly.
